We have pretty well finished up Twyford BBQ & Catering World Headquarters and Educational Complex. We have a little bit of work left to do but not much. It is working well for us and if you are ever out our way, stop in we are usually around.
We are heading out to one of the best BBQ contest in the country. It is put on by Mike Mills and his crew at 17th Street Bar & Grill. It is one of the few dual-sanctioned contest which means it has both KCBS and MBN or MIM competitions. We are going to compete in both contest and we are looking forward to it. Make sure and check out the events for Saturday under “Live Music” I will be officiating.

Jacksonville’s noted barbecue master is making his prime-time debut tonight on a new reality show.
The U.S. version of “MasterChef,” hosted by the razor-tongued chef and star of “Hell’s Kitchen,” Gordon Ramsay, premieres at 8 p.m. today on the Fox network.

Steve Jahnke / The Southern Haley Evans and Sarah Mausey, both Rend Lake College culinary studetns, try to decide which bottle of barbecue sauce has the best label while judging for the National Barbecue Association’s Awards of Excellence Friday at the 17th Street Warehouse in Murphysboro. Students spent four hours judging over 200 sauces, dry rubs, hot sauces, and more. Winners were determined in a variety of categories and the awards will be presented at the NBBQA convention in Memphis, TN on February 4
